Where the Offices Are
Development along I-4 turned Lake Mary into an employment center. AAA has its national headquarters in neighboring Heathrow, Mitsubishi Power Americas is headquartered in Lake Mary, and companies such as Deloitte, Verizon and JPMorgan Chase have operations in the area. For people who work here, living in town can turn a daily run down I-4 into a few miles on local roads.
Established Neighborhoods, Very Little Vacant Land
Lake Mary is largely built out, so most homes for sale are resale in neighborhoods that have had decades to mature, and new construction inside the city is limited to the occasional infill parcel. Heathrow, a private gated community next door, usually ends up in the same search. Keep in mind that a Lake Mary mailing address does not always mean a home is inside city limits: Heathrow shares the Lake Mary ZIP code but is unincorporated Seminole County, which changes who provides services and which tax rates apply. We check the parcel record for every address.
SunRail, Downtown and Trails
The SunRail station on Lake Mary Boulevard near Country Club Road is about half a mile from the small downtown, where Central Park hosts a Saturday farmers market, and it connects to the Cross Seminole Trail. Trains run south through Altamonte Springs and Winter Park to downtown Orlando. Lake Mary Boulevard also heads east to the 417 for trips toward east Orlando and UCF, and Colonial TownPark, just west of I-4, adds restaurants, a grocery store and a movie theater.
